The Dulaney Green Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization operating under the applicable laws for the State of Mississippi and Title 26, Subtitle A Chapter 1, Subchapter F, Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are dedicated to improving the spiritual, financial, and academic wellbeing of Mississippians in need.

We’re creating more compassionate community, financial literacy, and academic success in our neck of the woods.

Our mission

Guided by the fundamental principles of Christianity, we aim to prevent and alleviate human suffering derived from lack of education and economic opportunities and spiritual growth.

Our vision

A hopeful future for Mississippians in need.

Our plan

The Foundation will offer an extensive array of public service programs and projects based on its 3-Point Thrust: Religious Involvement, Education Development, and Economic Development. Under the 3-Point Thrust, members will volunteer their direct services, work as catalysts for community actions, and blaze trails for both public and private organizations. Members will also network with other organizations to secure resources and disseminate information.

The 3-Point Thrust

  • Religious Involvement will foster compassionate, caring, community-minded young adults through the understanding of Christianity.
  • Economic Development will promote hardworking, healthy lifestyles that foster economic growth and help young adults set career goals, find opportunities, and plan for their futures.
  • Education Development will enhance the knowledge and skills of young adults, emphasize the importance of academic success, and provide resources that enable them to achieve.

Our story

The heart of our story is our beloved matriarch, Jessie Lee Dulaney Green. Raised in a poor, rural community with less than a thousand residents, she went from picking cotton as a child to working as the help for a local white family to becoming a chef after that family paid for her to attend culinary school.

She raised eight children along the way – five boys and three girls – and instilled in them the integrity and ambition that has allowed them to succeed beyond their wildest dreams.

After her passing in 2014, we – her children and grandchildren – established the Dulaney Green Foundation to honor her memory and values. Her love for learning, dedication to Christ and community, and down-to-earth sensibilities are at the heart of everything we do.
